Print Seminar

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 8, 2007, 10:26 PM

Hello everyone.

I was just curious about something, I am going to be running a printing seminar in the near future, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in attending? This is mostly a "virtual" attendance, since I know none of the people who watch me even live in the same state as me, let alone the same country.

But I was just interested to know if anyone wants to learn very detailed traditional and some of my very own printing techniques?

Some things I cover in most of my seminars:

Dye-transfer (3 different methods)

Ditaximony

Dye-destruction

All these are very consuming techniques, but I know a lot of people are very interested in them, especially transfers. Ditaximony is a style developed by myself and a friend, which is very detailed, and then destruction prints.

Let me know if you're seriously interested. Not exactly sure how I can turn the seminar into a webcast, so any help would be appreciated.

:)

I think that's a great idea.
I'm just a student now; mostly just do basic B&W prints, but I'm totaly open to learning other methods.

That is good, I need to find a way to record the video for it, but I think it would be nice to cast it to people who can't come.

do you have ps action too? (when i dont have time because photo journalists never have time because of gripping seminars and other significant very! events.)

Hmm, I'd be interested in theory. But it depends on how you're gonna do those seminars and stuff. Because I only seem to remember things I can actually do, when it comes to photography. I can read about it and shit, but it doesn't stick. And since I don't have the equipment for those techniques here (nor the time now), I'm not sure how much those virtual seminars would do for me.

Wouldn't be very interactive over the internet. Why not plan the lessons ahead, shoot, cut and edit them to sell the videos afterwards. Either using some pay-per-webcast model or on DVD.

You could also do something like a free seminar-part which everyone can see on the net and explain the stuff in-depth in the webcasts you sell. A free part could attract more interested people, showing some of your "in-action" videos could convince one or the other to pay for the other videos.
