Print Seminar (updated information)

Journal Entry: Mon Feb 12, 2007, 8:26 PM

Hey guys and gals!

Well I been looking into this webcast sort of thing for a seminar I will be doing, and I am sorry to say it cannot happen. This doesn't mean something along the same lines wont happen! The problem with me webcasting this upcoming seminar is that the people who are paying to actually come to the seminar do not like the idea of me sharing this information on the web for free. I totally understand it, I just didn't think about it when I thought of the plan, so the webcast from my seminar won't happen.

The good news!

I want to make my powerpoint and personal instruction into a webcast! I can easily share my slides on a video with everyone, but the hard part is the work session and instructional session. If you know anything about printing color or any alternative process, its very dark and takes lots of time. So I need to get around this loop. I am still brainstorming ideas about how to make this into an internet presentation, so if you are experienced with such things, please email me; hello at keithfranke.com

Do you think I should take a break submitting? I never have had this many deviations up on any of my accounts to date, and I don't know if its worth it to just flood everyones messages?

And I am in talks with a fantastic designer for my new website, more details will follow, its just not a personal site, it will include everything about my passion for traditional photography and its processes.

Anything to add? Please comment

Thirded.

I would love to see this when (if) it goes to fruition.

I dont think anyone wants to see you stop submitting. :)

I did not get to post in your original post, but since I started working less than a month ago with printing myself, it would be great to set some tips from someone as experienced as yourself. Learning the basic print-things is something you can easily do yourself by experimenting, but when it comes to more advanced techniques, I am certain that all the help you can get from other people is a great asset :-)

Sadly I have no idea how you can put this thing into a webcast, but I wish you the best of luck with it.

About the submission thing, well, it's overwhelming to see lots of deviations in my message centre, but I do my best to look at all of them even if I don't give a comment. Sometimes it's hard to find something else to say about your photos that it's not "beautiful/gorgeous/etc".

But it's your gallery and you should do what do you think it's best for you.

I have no idea how to do webcasts and such, but I hope you work something out. I had a giggle though imagining a loooong, totally dark webcast. :giggle: A little challenge to work around.

Of course you should upload if you feel like it. People watch you because they like to see your work, even if it fills up the message center from time to time. I for one often am a little behind in viewing and commenting because I watch too many people.
